Celtic band Scythian and local group The Drowsy Lads will kick off festivities surrounding the feast of St. Patrick with a family-friendly concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at the Athenaeum Theatre, located in downtown Columbus at 34 N. 4th St.

The Washington, D.C.-based Scythian performed on the main stage last year at the Dublin Irish Festival and has closed out the main stage at World Youth Day. The four-member band was founded by Catholic brothers Alex and Dan Fedoryka, who both graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville.

They will be joined for a high-energy, crowd-interactive show by The Drowsy Lads, which is considered the Columbus area’s top traditional Celtic bands, and the Richens/Timm School of Irish Dance.

Tickets, which are $20 in advance and $30 at the door, can be found here.
