Craft show season is here in the Diocese of Columbus.
The craft shows not only present an opportunity to shop locally, but they also help fund many parish ministry group efforts.
New Albany Church of the Resurrection’s HollyDay Bazaar, Nov. 7, is hosted every year by the parish Women’s Group. They note this as their only fundraiser to support their charity efforts. Funds collected go toward a variety of causes, including food for Vacation Bible School participants, donations to Columbus St. James the Less Food Pantry and providing tuition sponsorship for children at a mission school in El Salvador.
Attending these craft shows is also a chance to not only shop locally, but also, to specifically support many Catholic artisans.
In 1 Peter 4:10, we see Jesus call his faithful to use their gifts and talents for the service of others. In participating in these shows, these artisans are responding to that call to share their talents with others and those attending have a chance to support them as well.

Westerville St. Paul the Apostle’s Holiday Bazaar, Nov. 21, has also presented a unique opportunity for youth of the parish this year through their “Young Entrepreneur Registration” option. This gives students of the school and parish a chance to experience a craft show at a reduced rate.
Before finishing your holiday shopping this year, consider attending one of these local craft shows. You might find just what you are looking for on your shopping list and end up supporting a greater mission as well.
