Bishop Earl K. Fernandes joined Fr. Vince Nguyen, Pastor of Sacred Heart and St. John the Baptist parishes, to concelebrate with Archbishop Auza, Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union, for Mass during the annual Columbus Italian Festival. Held at St. John the Baptist Church, the festival drew another large crowd despite the rainy forecast.
Before the final blessing, Archbishop Auza and Bishop Fernandes blessed the reliquary housing the St. Pius of Pietrelcina relics, which will be installed in the Padre Pio chapel at St. John the Baptist, a diocesan shrine Bishop Fernandes recently named.
