Funeral Mass for Sister Judene Lillie, OP (Order of Preachers), 95, who died Thursday, July 30 at the Mohun Health Care Center, will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 12 at the Motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Burial will be at Rosaryville Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

She was born Ann Adele Lillie on Nov. 15, 1930 in Menlo, Iowa, to James and Margaret (Farrell) Lillie.

She earned a bachelor of science degree in business from St. Mary’s Dominican College of New Orleans in 1958 and a master of business administration in business administration and accounting from Loyola University of New Orleans in 1968.

She entered the congregation of the Dominican Sisters of St. Mary (New Orleans) (now the Dominican Sisters of Peace) in 1951 and pronounced her vows on June 14, 1953.

She served as a teacher in Louisiana; a treasurer, bookkeeper and archivist in Massachusetts and Louisiana; and associate judge and auditor for the Archdiocese of New Orleans tribunal.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mary Dickson, Grace Woolway and Pauline Lamberty. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
